Stainless Steel Thin Jam Nylon Insert Lock Nut 1/2-13
Although our SunShade socket hardware comes with the standard locking nut, these optional jam-nut style locking nuts are for specific applications where the mounting surface is thicker than a standard fiberglass boat deck. These may be necessary for installations like swim platforms or other thicker areas where you intend to mount the SunShade sockets. Please see the additional photos in the product gallery.
The nylon insert grips the thread to resist vibration loosening, while the thin jam profile tucks flush behind the socket backing plate so there's no added bulk. Stainless construction means it won't corrode whether you run freshwater lakes or salt.
